What is it about ang mos and trannies? These men ain't very discerning in who they "hang" around with, if you get what I mean. No, you read it right and you can close your jaws now. I have nothing against transgender, am talking abt a particular segment of SPGs and in fact, they may not be doing trannies justice here. These girls look burnt (not olive or sun kissed skin) and not very well maintained (why do they look like men in drag?). They can do whatever they want really (none of my business afterall). Just know that everything written here is biased and stereotypical. You are warned.

In one weekend on an exotic island surrounded by beautiful sandy beaches and clear blue waters, Hyacie and I encountered several Caucasian men with Asian looking chicks hanging off their arms. Good for the guys except the women looked either: 1) older (cougars have my respect; u go sistas), 2) like trannies. What happened to the Sarong Party Girls(SPGs)/sweet young things whom women hate cos they look like whales when they stand next to these gorgeous babes?

Never knew that the situation has degenerated to such dire state or could it be these ang mos think all Asian women look the same (yeah, all have oriental eyes and brown skin)? To be fair to the ladies, the guys ain't eye candies either. Let's retrace the genesis of SPGs...chicks who fawn over caucasians cos they are chivalrous, handsome (chiselled look) and ahem, presumbly more generous than stingy, I mean thrifty asian men.

SPGs have been (unfairly) labelled as money diggers etc etc, probably by other jealous whales/women and men who will never stand a chance at a date with them.

Now back to this weekend of observation, its either the real chicks have wised up (change their choice of men) or taste has evolved drastically!

Come to think of it, while doing some people watching recently at a Thai eatery, a guy friend pointed out to me an asian babe (with a great figure) whom he thought was cute And he admitted she looked abit like a tranny. That means guys like women who look like men! What's with that, dudes?

Leaving Hanoi for Danang/Hoi An.

My local guides-Lee and Mae left deep impressions in the first leg of my Vietnam trip.

One 18 year old who aspires to sharpen her skills as a guide and work in the city but is destined to marry next year to a man her parents have chosen for her, although there is another man she loves.

Another is 25 year old mother and she works carrying her 10-month old baby son on her back. The baby never once fussed or cried throughout the 2-hour trekking. The only made beautiful 'noise' he made was when he tried to "talk" to his mother. Very adorable and lovable he is. Somewhere along the trail, he grabbed my finger and didn't let go till quite a while later. Think he has stolen my heart. ;P Maybe my soul's being captured in the woods or my spirit's ploughing through the padi fields. Am a walking shell for now till the rest of me catch up in Danang. :)

I love the sophisticated way Pixie writes:
"No matter what, sometimes, you just can't straighten a cur's tail."

Little old me will just give it as it is:
"Can't teach an old stubborn dog new tricks."

*guffaw*

Its mid week and if you're feeling the burdens of work or taking hard hits from the challenges thrown at you, here's something to bless your soul; taken from Paulo Coelho's blog :

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more..
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.
I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting…
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good- bye.

I read on Jan's msn nick about "Decluttering your relationships."
That requires a "Control, Alternate, Delete" button! :P
Have you watched "The Black Swan"?
It was more of a psychological thriller than a movie with depth and insights to the ballerina's world. Anyway, thought the poem below depicts the struggle of the lead ballerina very well as she went into a hysterical hallucination towards the end as she attained the stardom and applause she yearned for all this while.

Apprehensions (by Sylvia Plath)

There is this white wall, above which the sky creates itself---
Infinite, green, utterly untouchable.
Angels swim in it, and the stars, in indifference also.
They are my medium.
The sun dissolves on this wall, bleeding its lights.

A gray wall now, clawed and bloody.
Is there no way out of the mind?
Steps at my back spiral into a well.
There are no trees or birds in this world,
There is only sourness.

This red wall winces continually :
A red fist, opening and closing,
Two gray, papery bags---
This is what I am made of , this and a terror
Of being wheeled off under crosses and a rain of pietas.

On a black wall, unidentifiable birds
Swivel thier heads and cry.
There is no talk of immortality among these!
Cold blanks approach us :
They move in a hurry.
